In the previous episodes, with François Bodin and Charles Troupin, we had a chance to discuss the overarching structure of the initiative, the current HPC, and the supercomputer landscape throughout Europe. We had the opportunity to introduce the overall scope and objective of the Phidias project, and to dig a bit deeper on the ocean use case, one of the use cases under development, and how this is going to positively help the work of the ocean developers and researchers.

In this episode, we are going to step into another field to contextualise the role of the European supercomputer scenario. What Phidias is bringing to the table? How is the project connected with already running and existing HPC initiatives and like-minded networks?

In this regard, this third episode features Corentin Lefèvre, a digital and collaborative R&I project developer and manager and PHIDIAS member. Corentin has been working on collaborative European R&I projects for more than 10 years and he is currently deeply involved in the overall management of Phidias, as well as one of the responsible people in drafting its business model and sustainability roadmap.

Corentin Lefevre, Phidias Project Management Officer (PMO) from NEOVIA Innovation, explains how and why the Phidias-HPC project can be regarded as a prototype and how it can seamlessly fit with the current European landscape, namely with initiatives such as EuroHPC Joint Undertaking or the EOSC. Moreover, Corentin outlines the long-term perspective and sustainability of the initiative, in conjunction with the development of a brand new generation of services and machines for scientists.
