Geomatys is a computing development company specialised in geospatial information processing, which aims at facilitating, improving decision-making and predicting risks. Among their values, there are interoperability, innovation, quality control, ergonomics and user experience.

Research expertise

Since its creation in 2005, the company has been involved in Open Source projects. Thus, the services provided are based on Open Source libraries developed by Geomayts: Geotoolkit and Apache SIS. Their expertise in the field has allowed them to create a software platform that is fully mastered and interoperable, strictly respecting field standards: Examind Community (formerly known as Constellation SDI).

Role in PHIDIAS

Geomayts will participate in the use case about big data earth observation aimed at processing on-demand services for environmental monitoring, with the overall objective of enhancing the scalability of Earth Observation data processing chains and disseminating in a FAIR manner the mapping products for environmental monitoring coming from the end-users.

Vincent Heurteaux (M) founded Geomatys, together with Martin Desruisseaux, in 2005, with the aim of promoting OGC standards and propose innovative and efficient tools to the geomatic world. In 10 years, they became editor of the Geotoolkit and Constellation suite. The company works on solutions able to collect, administer and style a heavy data load, collaborating with different kinds of industries and local communities.
