New booklet about advanced engagement between HPC Centres of Excellence & EOSC

Building upon the increasing interest surrounding the connections linking HPC initiatives and the EOSC, EOSCsecretariat.eu has come out with a brand-new booklet which aims to investigate the current landscape of ten HPC European Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in relation to the EOSC.

CoEs address the computational science skills gap in key domains through specialised training for increased adoption of advanced HPC in industry and academia, involving a total of 139 beneficiaries from across 20 EU Member States and Associated Countries. They bring together European world-class knowledge and expertise in applying established mechanisms, user-driven development, performance tools and programming models for HPC, in order to co-design activities for real systems based on leading technologies. The ten CoEs cover fundamental areas such as engineering, environmental science, renewable energy, materials modelling and design, molecular and atomic modelling, big data and global system science, bio-molecular research, and are contributing tools to optimise HPC application performance.

The interaction between HPC and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a crucial element of the European Data Infrastructure. Indeed, PHIDIAS will take advantage of this connection using the long-term preservation services of the EOSC to host the data generated and services created within the project.
